Having taken the country by storm with the release of their debut ‘Blackbird E.P.’ a few months back on Hydrofunk Records, Brisbane seven piece Omni Anti are hitting the road for a tour to support their curious and oh so charming second single ’27’.
Have you ever wondered what its like to be a grave digger? Omni Anti have, eventually penning ’27’ so they could explore the life and mind of those amongst us who dig graves for a living.
“We were taking photos of Dutton Park cemetery in Brisbane and wondered about it. It’s a song for gravediggers who sit on mounds of dirt and play poker over 5am coffee. The chorus we gave this shanty was manic, orchestral in scale, probably trying to wake the dead with it.”
A number of grave diggers appear – with kind permission – in the paintings featured in the video directed by short film & documentary director Jasper St Aubyn West.
In November Omni Anti will be delivering their action packed live show to lucky audiences in Brisbane, Maroochydore, Sydney & Gold Coast, playing live tracks from their Blackbird E.P., as well as showcasing new material they are planning to release in 2010. Featuring three vocalists, keys, tenor and baritone saxophone, violin, guitars, bass and drums, Omni Anti throw an all out party on every stage they grace.
