With a career that spans seven classic albums, countless chart hits and legendary performances, and a string of accolades worthy only of one of music’s most iconic and enduring groups, Frontier Touring have now announced that the Eagles will return to Australia for an extensive run of dates.
Dubbed the History of the Eagles World Tour, the band — who are renowned for the quality of their sell-out performances, which they load with hits from their vast, one-of-a-kind discography — will perform in venues around the country and make their first trip to New Zealand in 20 years.
The band will be bringing rock radio staples like Hotel California, Desperado, Take It Easy, Take It To The Limit, and many more, across a tour that will include indoor arena dates in Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney, and special outdoor performances in the Hunter Valley and Victoria’s Hanging Rock.
Having toured the History of the Eagles throughout North America, the band’s current show has been hailed as one of the best in their storied career, with members Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B Schmit delivering an incredible three hours of classic Eagles hits. It’s even set to feature tracks from the band’s illustrious catalog that they’ve never previously performed live.
Forming in Los Angeles in 1971, the Eagles’ seven records — Eagles (1972), Desperado (1973), On The Border (1974), One Of These Nights (1975), Hotel California (1976), The Long Run (1979) and a 28-year-wait for Long Road Out of Eden (2007) — have sold over 83 million copies in the US alone.
This is Australian fans’ chance to see one of the world’s finest bands and true rock and roll icons bring to life some of the genre’s most instantly recognisable riffs, melodies, solos, harmonies, and lyrics, and this new run of shows is sure to form memories that Eagles fans won’t soon forget.
