Tales of eras passed, of the heart and the land, and of yearning for home, in a warm acoustic fashion belying his years.
In the wee candlelit hours, together with a hand-picked band of talented old world musicians and a collection of vintage microphones and classic elderly guitars, Timothy’s worldly folk soul and country compositions came to life, in the form of debut album ‘for bread & circuses’.
Melbourne audiences have a chance to get up close and personal with Carroll’s debut album in November with a string of shows, featuring the accompaniment of Corinna Scanlon with backing vocals and Laura Driver on cello.
In celebration of an incredible 12 months for the Song of the Year winner (Q Song Awards 2009), the Brisbane troubadour will perform at Queensland’s Woodford Folk Festival over the New Year.
So if you like your folk loose and lyrical, and your country drunk and heartbroken, catch a Timothy Carroll show.
