NOFX support band Bodyjar have pulled out of tonight show at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre and while it’s a major bummer you can’t really blame them. The veteran Australian punk act took to Facebook to reveal that Bodyjar frontman Cameron Baines’ wife has gone into labour a little sooner than expected.
“We have to pull out of tonight’s show with NOFX in Melbourne,” stated the band. “Cam’s wife Regan has gone into labor a bit ahead of schedule! We have a feeling their soon to be born child really just wanted to see @NOFX.”
Being that Cam will be on “father duties” Bodyjar had little choice but to bow out of tonight’s gig. However, they did manage to get good mates Frenzal Rhomb, who supported NOFX earlier in their Australian tour, to step in.
It’s hasn’t been the smoothest of tours for NOFX, particularly for singer Fat Mike. The band’s frontman, real name Mike Burkett, kicked a fan in the face in Sydney, made a somewhat-hokey apology, and then suffered a boot to the face himself in Perth.
Bodyjar have vowed to return to action tomorrow night, Friday, 21st November, when NOFX play their second show at the Forum Theatre. A big congratulations to Cam and his family. Full remaining NOFX Australian tour details below.
