With The Smashing Pumpkins latest album, Monuments To An Elegy, due out next month frontman Billy Corgan recently showed-off his band’s killer new live line-up, that’s all the rage.
That’s our none too subtle way at saying that The Pumpkins now count The Killers’ bassist Mark Stoermer and Rage Against The Machine drummer Brad Wilk amongst their ranks after the new-look lineup made their live debut at Chicago’s Thalia Hall on 26th November.
Gigwise reports The Stoermer/Wilk inclusive Pumpkins played a selection of new material from Monuments To An Elegy, including recent single Being Beige, alongside past hits like Drown and Disarm, and a cover of David Bowie’s Fame (below).
The Pumpkins have also released new t-shirts that take a rather frank shot at CNN anchor Anderson Cooper. Cooper recently accused Corgan of being “off his alternative rocker” for posing with two cats on the cover of animal activist magazine PAWS Chicago.
Corgan initially hit back via some Tweets, labelling Cooper as a “globalist shill”. A new Smashing Pumpkins t-shirt takes Corgans sentiments a step further, simply reading “Fuck You Anderson Cooper” over the image of two cats wearing bow ties. You can check out an image of the t-shirt below.
