Hear Two New Lana Del Rey Tracks From Tim Burton’s ‘Big Eyes’

Two dramatic new Lana Del Rey tracks have appeared online. Big Eyes and I Can Fly (below) were both written for the forthcoming Tim Burton-directed biopic Big Eyes.

As Rolling Stone have noted, Del Rey’s lyrics on the film’s title track appear to mirror its narrative, which portrays artist Margaret Keane and the artistic fraud of her husband Walter.

“With your big eyes / And your big lies / I saw you creeping ’round the garden / What are you hiding?” Del Rey croons, before climbing into her upper register.

The film’s other leaked song, I Can Fly, has a more uplifting tone, with Del Rey’s vocals sitting atop a very cinematic string section. The song will reportedly play over the movie’s end credits, with the title track appearing elsewhere in the film.

A snippet of Big Eyes was first heard in a lyric video and trailer released for the film earlier this week. The movie will see a US release on Christmas Day, with an Australian release in the following months.

Del Rey released her third studio album, Ultraviolence, in June.
