Australia now officially has three reps heading to punk rock summer camp in the US for the 2015 Vans Warped Tour, with I Killed The Prom Queen just named in the latest fistful of lineup additions.
Not only have the homegrown metalcore heavyweights unleashed a special announcement video (below) to mark their inclusion on the Warped 2015 bill, they’ve also used the opportunity to reveal an unexpected surprise.
“Not only are we excited that we’re on Vans Warped Tour,” guitarist Jona Weinhofen says in the clip, “We’re also in the studio right now recording a brand new record, which will be out through Epitaph Records just in time for the tour.”
The festival kicks off on 19th June in Pomona, California, which means we can expect a new I Killed The Prom Queen album by mid-year. It was only February last year that the band released their third studio album, Beloved, after Weinhofen left Bring Me The Horizon to focus on IKTPQ.
The band’s inclusion on the Warped bill creates a three-pronged assault of Aussie music invading the iconic punk and hardcore festival, after Canberra rockers Hands Like Houses were recently added to the lineup, and Newcastle boys Trophy Eyes were announced late last year.
