Nashville-based singer Natalie Prass was due to support Ryan Adams at his Copenhagen show yesterday, but after a mishap with her flights she couldn’t make the show. Never one to let down a crowd, Adams did the only thing he could – put on a dress and some tights and covered for her.
Reports Consequence of Sound, Adams appeared onstage as “Natalie Sass” and performed a bunch of Prass’ songs as a prelude to his own set. “I am usually much more gorgeous,” Adams/Sass said on stage. “The humidity fucks up my hair.” Watch video footage of one of the songs below.
While on tour together, the pair have collaborated on stage numerous times and have covered one another’s songs, but this appears to be the first instance of one of them actually performing as the other.
Of course, they both had some fun on social media about the whole event, actively calling out Scandinavian Airlines as being responsible for Prass’ no-show with a series of memes. See video and photographic evidence of the switcheroo below.
