For all their fame and run of hit singles, Canberra duo Peking Duk are yet to release a studio album. That said, the pair – Reuben Styles and Adam Hyde – have revealed they are hard at work on their debut full-length, and have a new single “coming very soon”.
Taking to Facebook, the ARIA Award-winning Peking Duk lads have said, “Album is underway & making our balls tingle.” If that’s anything to go by, fans are in for something of a visceral musical experience up hearing the duo’s first full-length effort.
Given that Peking Duk’s new band picture (above) looks like it’s taken from an episode of MasterChef (as a cluey punter on Facebook noted), we’re sure they’re cooking up something big.
Peking Duk have already been giving fans sneak peeks of new music in their live shows, and they appear to be working on some collaborations which will become part of their album.
Speaking with Billboard late last year, Hyde said, “We have a lot of music in the works and a lot of exciting collaborations. We’re trying to keep most of it under wraps at the moment so when we have the final product it will be a present to the people.”
The latest piece of “new music” to come from Peking Duk arrived in the form of a soundtrack to triple j‘s “Matt and Alex-ercise” video, which also featured Joyride. At the time, Peking Duk said they were calling their new track Levels By Avicii.
Peking Duk are set to perform at the 2015 Hyundai A-League Grand Final on Sunday, 17th May, before appearing at Splendour In The Grass this July.
