Swedish “melodeath metal” powerhouse Soilwork have just announced a run of club shows in Australia, coinciding with the release of their tenth studio album The Ride Majestic.
Currently traipsing across North America, the pioneering group will land here in early February, with the tour kicking off in Perth on Wednesday 10th at the Rosemount before doing a run down the east coast and finishing up at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on the Tuesday, 16th.
The album sees the band pick up where they left off with their last release The Living Infinite, once again matching brutal instrumentals with over-arching melodies that soar above the aggressive tumult.
Lyrically though it sees the band dealing with issues of mortality as vocalist Björn Strid explains: “Just about every member of the band had a death in the family while recording the album… We came up with this title to remember what we’ve gone through together and make it a hymn to those we’ve lost and celebrate their lives…”
