Sydney’s free Surry Hills Festival has made its second lineup announcement for 2015, dropping names like local indie-pop outfit I Know Leopard (pictured), reggae/funk/soul group Lyre Byrdland and indie-rockers The Civilians.
Other new additions to the 2015 Surry Hills Festival lineup include singer-songwriter Lucy Lowe and the 10-piece High Top Brass Band, who join the likes of previously announced acts Noire, The Stiffys and Sons Of East. Catch the full lineup, below.
Spread across two main stages in Surry Hills’ Ward Park and Shannon Reserve, Surry Hills Festival 2015 will take place on Saturday, 26th September. This year’s event also includes acts from the Australian Institute Of Music (AIM), with a curated Pop Up stage to showcase emerging artists.
Local musos are also invited to enter the Surry Song Competition by writing an original song about their love for Surry Hills. The winner receives a professional recording session at AIM, and the chance to perform at this year’s Surry Hills Festival. Applications close 18th September, so check the Surry Hills Festival website for details.
Funds raised via donations at Surry Hills Festival 2015 will go towards the community programs of the Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre.
