While Guns N’ Roses fans wait to find out whether that long, long, long-fabled reunion might actually, maybe, one day happen (Fred Durst thinks it might), former bandmates Slash and Duff McKagan have buddied up to jam on some Acca Dacca.
The pair, who were also bandmates in Velvet Revolver and all-star covers band Kings Of Chaos, teamed up with VR bandmate Dave Kushner, drummer Bill Burr and Scars On Broadway singer Franky Perez (who was actually in Aus earlier this year fielding vocal duties for Apocalyptica at Soundwave) to thrash out a respectable cover of AC/DC’s Highway To Hell.
And it was all for a good cause – a fundraiser for the Wonderland Elementary School in Los Angeles.
According to a French Gunners fan site, Duff was in town (along with fellow Gunners veteran, drummer Matt Sorum) rehearsing for some shows in support of Alice Cooper’s new Hollywood Vampires supergroup LP.
While we know that a reformed Appetite For Destruction-era Guns N’ Roses most definitely won’t be playing Soundwave 2016, rumours of their reformation have reached fever pitch after longtime nemeses Slash and Axl Rose publicly became friends again.
AC/DC, meanwhile, are touring Australia this December with their new Rock Or Bust album, and we’ve teamed up with Corona to bring you the Summer 2015 Ultimate Music Fan Merch Pack competition, which could see you snag some sweet Acca Dacca merch as well as a bunch of other swag from Audio Technica.
