Oasis’ Noel Gallagher has taken to the stage with U2 to perform the band’s hit single I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For and a cover of a Beatles classic.
Footage of U2’s show at London’s O2 Arena on Monday night, 26th October (below), shows frontman Bono announcing to the crowd, “I’d like to bring out of one my heroes, one of the band’s heroes to help us out with this next song. Will you welcome to the stage the high flying bird himself Noel Gallagher.”
The former Oasis member then takes to the stage with an acoustic guitar, and helps U2 close out their show with some additional backing vocals as they blend I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For into The Beatles’ All You Need Is Love.
The love was clearly felt by the audience, with rapturous applause following Gallagher’s U2 collab, but it’s unclear how much of those vibes rubbed off on the muso, whose former band was recently rumoured to have held “serious talks” about a possible 2016 reunion after his lengthy feud with brother Liam reportedly ended in 2014.
Noel Gallagher was added to the 2016 Bluesfest lineup in September, so he’ll be down under in March with his band High Flying Birds. Watch him perform with U2, below — their Beatles cover begins at around 4:25.
