It seems these days as punks get older, they turn to their acoustic guitars and start to write folk songs. Then they get together with some friends and tour. That’s what we get when ex Hot Water Music frontman Chuck Ragan, ex Avail frontman Tim Barry, ex Lucero Ben Nichols and Frank Turner come out to tour Australia in April as apart of their Revival Tour.
Having toured together previously, this time the guys are rehearsing before the tour together and will help perform each others songs on the night. They will also be joined on stage by musicians Jon Gaunt and Todd Beene.
“As artists we go on tour together and then in the final days of the tour–after everyone is familiar with one another–you’re playing songs with your tour-mates and having a blast,” states founder Chuck Ragan. “I thought, why can’t we get together, rehearse before the tour starts and perform together during the entire tour?” Ragan says of his inspiration for The Revival Tour.
“Some of our set for that night’s show is chosen in advance, but everything else evolves organically onstage,” he elaborates. “It’s truly one of the most special tours I’ve ever been a part of.”
