It’s shaping up to be a big week for local hip hop releases. Both Elefant Traks and Obese have some long awaited albums dropping on Friday; Obese is releasing Spit Syndicate’s second album Exile and Elefant Traks will drop Ozi Batla’s first solo album, Wild Colonial.
In anticipation of the big day, both albums can be streamed right now, for free, so all you Aussie hip hop fans can have a good listen before parting with your hard earned dollars.
It’s been at least ten years coming, but Ozi Batla is finally releasing a solo album. Wild Colonial is streaming live via Soundcloud now at the Elefant Traks website. DJ Bonez, one of the most highly revered DJs in Australia, has provided his trademark impeccable cuts for the album, as exemplified on the first single ‘Put it on Wax’.
You can ‘try before you buy’ the full album for a limited time here.
Spit Syndicate are now previewing all thirteen tracks from Exile live on their MySpace page. Produced by Adit of Horrorshow fame (and featuring additional production from M-Phazes, JSquared, Cam Bluff), Exile demonstrates the musical progression of the Sydney duo, and features the single ‘Starry-Eyed’.
You can hear the entire album here, and download ‘Starry-Eyed’ here.
