Not ones to wallow in post New Year’s laziness, Sydney duo World Champion have just announced that they will soon be embarking on their first ever headline tour.
Having played Lost Paradise over New Year’s Eve as well as supporting Toro y Moi in January, there is no rest for the wicked awesome, as Will Campion and Julian Sudek will spend most of February out on the road.
To mark the momentous occasion, the most lordly of lords have decided to give away a free download of Avocado Moon, the recent cut from their Avocado Galaxy EP out last month on Future Classic. Getting plenty of love from triple j and FBi Radio, the EP has been earning them praise far and wide with our own reviewer Harry Fuller calling it “a psychedelic pop journey with synthy arpeggios, heavy breathing and dreamy, dare I say angelic, vocals.”
Adding bass player Reg Harris to the live fold, they’re kicking off the 9-date tour at Mountain Sounds Festival on the Central Coast, before making their way, via Secret Garden Festival, around to Sydney’s Northern Beaches for a final show at the Newport Arms.
Sydney kraut-pop duo Mezko are on support for Sydney and Melbourne with Marco Vella and Ccolo also join the party in Sydney, with more guests to be announced in other cities shortly.
