Cat Power has unfortunately had to cancel her 2016 Australian tour due to a medical condition, with plans to reschedule the dates.
The artist, known to friends and family as Chan Marshall, suffers from Hereditary Angioedema (HAE), a rare and potentially fatal blood disease that “causes swelling around the throat, oesophagus and internal organs.”
While this is the first time that Marshall has ever had to postpone any Australian shows – pretty good considering she’s been coming her for 18 years – this very same condition saw her forced to reschedule some European tour dates back in 2012.
Just as with those shows, Marshall promises to reschedule the tour once her condition improves.
All tickets purchased will be valid for Cat Power’s rescheduled tour or alternatively refunds can be obtained from the ticket provider.
