The Sydney Symphony Orchestra has announced that it will take to the iconic Sydney Opera House for two nights to pay tribute to the legendary David Bowie who passed away in January.
Led by conductor Benjamin Northey, the Orchestra have lined-up a stellar bill of vocalists to help them out with iOTA, Tim Rogers, The Church’s Steve Kilbey, Deborah Conway, Adalita and Jack Ladder all set to perform with them in May.
Named after Bowie’s last greatest hits collection Nothing Has Changed, they have promised around 30 songs including his biggest hits Changes, China Girl, Life On Mars, Under Pressure, Let’s Dance, Starman and more.
“Bowie had amazing depth and he didn’t disappoint even to the very end,” said Sydney-based artist iOTA.
“He came to the end of an amazing life with a lot of class and integrity. He’s taught other artists how to be in the world and how to do it right.”
Each vocalist taking to the stage on the night will pick their favourite Bowie tracks to perform.
It follows a string of stellar tributes for the British icon. He was honoured by Lady Gaga at the Grammys and a week later Lorde performed a tribute at the BRIT Awards.
