In the next chapter of a cryptic saga that started back in January with Green Day‘s Billie Joel Armstrong posting a picture to Instagram, the frontman has now posted a video follow up.
The first post was pretty ambiguous, with just a still of Armstrong standing behind a mic.
Now it would appear to be pretty certain that Green Day are indeed working on new music, with the latest post a first-person look around a recording set-up of some kind, including a snippet of drummer Tre Cool banging a tiny steel drum of some sort. Armstrong later walks into a soundboard room complete with sound engineers (or so it would appear).

If this is indeed a new album, it would be Green Day’s first release of original music since 2012’s album trilogy ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré!.
Last year, longtime producer Rob Cavallo revealed new Green Day is on its way and sounding “fantastic”.
“I recently heard five new songs that Billie has written and demoed,” he said. “Let me tell you, they were just fantastic,” he said. “He is absolutely at the top of his game. Fans can be sure that when they do return, the music will be amazing.”
