The lineup for the 11th edition of Sydney festival Come Together has just been injected with some new blood, expanding to add two new acts alongside what is already a who’s who of Aussie hip-hop.
The first announcement was an obvious sign that the event was returning to its roots in exclusively hosting hip-hop acts, following the addition of a range of indie artists over the past few years. This year’s lineup was already pulsating with talent, with the likes of Drapht, Allday, Spit Syndicate, Gill Bates and Mallrat already set to feature. This latest announcement sees TUKA from Thundamentals join the bill alongside exciting emerging talent Dylan Joel.
TUKA may be well-known as one third of Aussie hip-hop group Thundamentals, but he’s also released three solo albums off the back of his bold, melodic lyrical style.
The other new addition, Dylan Joel, who has been frequently celebrated for his clever wordplay and poignant lyrics. His 2015 LP release Authentic Lemonade announced the arrival of the unearthed artist on the hip-hop scene, with his lyrical sincerity capturing audiences in his live shows to date.
This year’s event will, as always, take place under the Big Top at Luna Park, and is also a part of this year’s Sydney-wide Vivid Music festival.
