You Can Eat Shit At Splendour This Year, Thanks To The Arts & Craft Lineup

There’s plenty of cool shit happening as part of this year’s Splendour In The Grass art & craft program.

And by “cool shit” we literally mean ice cream made to look like human faeces.

Delish!

Coming to Splendour for the very first time, Mr. Poopie is the icy treat inspired by everyone’s favourite emoji: the jolly poop:

pooppooppoop

“Jump in and marvel at the indulgent and delicious substance excreting from the ice cream dispensers. Dine-in or take-away, either way you wont forget Mr Poopie!” Promoters promise.

But Mr. Poopie isn’t the only choice nugget to be snapped off this year’s Splendour Art and Splendour In The Craft lineups.

Curated by internationally exhibited artist Craig Walsh, Splendour Arts 2016 will feature six major pieces of totally ‘grammable contemporary art experiences running across the festival site, including “intoxicating visuals and video art, mysterious communities and miraculous inflatable houses of worship”.

2016 will also see the fourth instalment of The Barn’s unique community with Bennet Miller’s Upper Downs. This year punters will be able to mingle with inhabitants inside an Amish casino that includes spinning wheels, a roulette table and a range of card games.

While Melbourne’s Sam Songailo will use Splendour attendees as his ‘test subjects’ and “release them into his artwork to watch as their reactions unfold” as part of his Program 2 piece, which “explores the limits of perception and the phenomenology of consciousness”.

Plus, Andy Forbes’ Un Intelligent Design will see punters to attend a wedding show inside a inflatable church, inspired by freaky side shows and circus art. It also houses a potent mix of live theatre, dance comedy and rock n roll.

Meanwhile, Splendour In The Craft also returns this year with a range of bedazzling workshops from Australia’s biggest craftmasters. You’ll be able to learn mad skillz to make paper chandeliers, lanterns, charm bracelets, dream catchers and more with art jedis like Beci Orpin, Meet Make Create, Each to Own, Apomogy, The Craft Parlour, Art Park and Craft Mafia.

Staffers from your mum’s fave store Spotlight will also be on hand with the awesomely-named Mend It Like Beckham stall, where punters who rip their pants dancing to Flume can get their mending done for free!

And while you wait you can even grab a redskin cookie at the SouthSide Tea Room cafe, which just so happens to be run by Aussie indie band The Grates.

Sew much to do!
