Remote Control Records is turning 15 years old, so in celebration they’re inviting absolutely everybody to a party they’re hosting at Melbourne’s Shadow Electric.
From 2pm to 12am – yep, that’s ten hours of gabbering – Remote Control will throw on a wide range of dope beat pushers, from Jim Lawrie at the start to Teeth & Tongue in the middle to Milwaukee Banks at the end. In between the ten acts scheduled, there’ll be a slew of others acts and DJs on call to keep the party going.
But wait – there’s a big clincher. There’s four sets labelled as “Very Special Secret Guest”.
If you haven’t heard of Remote Control Records, you’ve certainly heard of one of their clients. They have a seriously impressive list on their website, that includes the likes of Courtney Barnett, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Client Liaison, Saskwatch and even international acts like Radiohead, FKA Twigs, Prodigy and Sigur Ros. Okay that might be a stretch but think of the possibilities!
