Get Dad on the blower because Hunters & Collectors are reuniting for a special one-off performance.
In fact, you might consider nabbing him a ticket to this year’s Clipsal 500 (ya know, Adelaide’s annual V8 supercar parade) for Father’s Day, because that’s where the iconic Aussie group will be staging their reunion.
Mark Seymour & co will pick up their instruments one more time for a special headline performance at the Big Race on Saturday, 4th March 2017 in what SA’s Minister for Tourism, Leon Bignell, has dubbed “a landmark occasion in Australian music”.
While Seymour himself reckons that Clipsal is “the perfect opportunity for the band to truly show its talent”.
“A big event, massive crowd and powerful rock music,” he said (via The Music Network). “One off gigs like this don’t come around often and the band relishes the opportunity to let rip in South Australia! At the Clipsal 500 we’ll be putting everything on the line for a solid one hundred minutes.”
It’s been 18 years since the Aussie rock legends disbanded – with only a handful of live performances since, including the 2009 Sound Relief concert in Melbourne – so this is kind of a big deal.
They’ll be joined onstage by fellow Aus rock veterans Baby Animals, plus a showcase of some of South Australia’s most talented emerging bands, as part of the 2017 Clipsal 500 concert series.
Early bird tickets are on sale now.
