A little bit Linkin Park, a little bit Korn… Contagious, the new single from Of Mice & Men is a genuine serving of nu-metalcore goodness, which is a sentence I never thought I’d put together in my whole life.
The track boats chuggy, ambient riffage and actually spends about three-or-so seconds deep in the world of Djent, before things begin to core out somewhat. Contagious fits in nicely with the other singles from the album so far, Pain and Real not just in name, but also in nature.
So far, Cold World is coming off like a fairly agitated record and an axe to grind. We’ll know for sure come Friday, 9th September; the record’s official street date.
The band have given Australia some pretty stellar real estate in their album tour, hitting our shores with your mates A Day To Remember and Tonight Alive this December. That is, unless frontman Austin Carlile’s regular health issues don’t get in the way.
