Jimmy Eat World have come good on their talk of a new album, announcing its title as Integrity Blues and sharing a new song off it called Sure And Certain.
Sure And Certain (below) falls onto the slow and steady end of the Jimmy Eat World spectrum, meaning that this is one of their iconic ‘shut up and listen’ songs a la Here You Me. It’s a fair bit removed from the white-knuckled Get Right which dropped earlier in the year, kicking off chatter about a forthcoming album from the emo forefathers.
Longtime fans of the band would have seen Integrity Blues coming from a mile away, considering the band’s regular three-year release cycle. It’s now been three years since the band dropped their current record Damage, and three years prior to that they dropped Invented.
Jimmy Eat World last played in Australia in 2014, when they celebrated the anniversary of 2004’s Futures with us. So, our theory is, if we stand here long enough, tapping our feet and staring directly at them, they’ll have to announce something soon, right…?
Tap…Tap….Tap……
Integrity Blues is set for release on Friday, 21st October. Stream Sure And Certain, below.
