UPDATE 22/09/16: the lineup for Bluesfest 2017 has expanded following a second artist announcement.
Bluesfest 2017 has now begun dishing the deets on the co-curricular activities, announcing a batch of five headline tours to coincide with the festival.
Leading the charge is Patti Smith, who will be performing her album Horses backed by her full band. Smith has been confirmed for shows at the State Theatre in Sydney and Hamer Hall in Melbourne, so you can bet your bottom dollar these will sell out at a head-spinning pace.
The Lumineers have also been confirmed for sideshows, which will include two stunning performances at the Sydney Opera House, which a cheeky stop off in both Melbourne and Perth.
The timeless Bonnie Raitt will be performing in a headline capacity for fans in Sydney, Melbourne and our nation’s fair capital.
Rounding off the list is R&B-jazz fusion big band Snarky Puppy and Andrew Bird who will be busing themselves in both Sydney and Melbourne.
