Wyclef Jean is in Haiti to support presidential candidate Michel Martelly in the elections and it has been reported that he was shot in the hand last night. Details of exactly what happened appear to be unclear however his publicist confirmed the reports:
Wyclef Jean was struck in the hand by a bullet in Port-au-Prince around 11 p.m. He is doing well. But she offered no details about the incident.
He was treated in hospital and has been released and it appears the injury was not serious.
Last year Jean attempted to run for president however he was barred from running when an electoral commission ruled he did not meet the requirements.
