Two inimitable powers of music, Billy Bragg and Joe Henry, have announced a joint Australia tour for 2017, bringing to life their brand new collaborative album Shine a Light – Field Recordings from the Great American Railroad, with the former muso already set to be in town as part of Bluesfest 2017.
Shine a Light is an acoustic offering from the duo, who focused on themes of the railway and told their stories using an abundance of harmonies. The album was written while actually on a railway voyage, one of 2,728km to be precise, suggesting plenty of time to contemplate and create.
The album will be a main feature of the below shows, which put the troubadours in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne, but fans can also expect to be treated to tunes from each artist’s respective back catalogue. For multiple decades, each of the pair has created legacies within the rock universe that can’t be rivalled, which is sure to make for some incredible performances.
