The WWE Is Throwing Its Weight Behind Aussie Metal Music

The WWE must smell what Australia is cooking, because it sure is loving itself some Aussie metal right about now.

The sports entertainment juggernaut has just tapped tunes by some of our country’s heaviest musical exports to soundtrack the smackdowns — and the inevitable John Cena winning-against-all-odds — that will surely feature in its forthcoming Pay Per View fights.

The title track from Melbourne riff dogs Airbourne‘s new album Breakin’ Outta Hell will form the official theme song for this week’s epic Hell In A Cell event, which will see Seth Rollins take on Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Title.

“Music is a critical and emotional component of WWE, and I am proud to expand our relationship with Airbourne,” says WWE SVP and GM of WWE Music Group, Neil Lawi (via Blabbermouth). “They continue to deliver rock anthems that suit our brand, as we deliver our content on multiple platforms for our fans.”

On ya, Airbourne.

Meanwhile, Byron Bay metalcore champs Parkway Drive‘s new one Devil’s Calling has been recruited as one of the theme songs for WWE NXT’s first ever PPV in Canada, which will see Samoa Jo attempt to snatch the NXT Championship from Shinsuke Nakamura.

The news comes after WWE superstar Seth Rollins was spotted moshing up a storm in the front row of one of Parkway’s recent US shows.

Who ever said the WWE wasn’t hardcore anymore, ay?

Blast both Aussie bands’ official WWE theme tunes below, and ICYMI you can catch Airbourne performing live on home turf when they hit the road for their Breakin’ Outta Hell tour in January of 2017.
