Yesterday evening, US trap lords Flosstradamus took to the Cresent Stage at Sydney’s debut FOMO Festival to give a bittersweet final performance as a duo.
Veterans of the music scene, Josh Young and Curt Cameruci announced last month that FOMO would be their final ever run of shows as a duo, ending a decade together, with Young leaving to focus on his own solo project full-time.
And so after they wrapped up FOMO with an incredibly visceral set full of filthy dubstep, hard-hitting trap and their greatest hits, Young took a moment to address the crowd and say an emotional farewell. “11 years ago me and this dude [Cameruci] started this group together and we’ve had some fucking crazy experiences all over the world,” said Young, whose wife is from Australia.
“Some of the best ones being here in Sydney,” he continued, before rattling off some of the venues they’ve played over the years. “All the way from Chinese Laundry, to Metro Theatre, to Enmore, and finishing off her at FOMO with you motherfuckers.
“I have to say man, this has been my life since I was 21 years old… and it’s fucking awesome to have gone through this with you. I’m an old-ass man now. So whether you’re a new fan, or a day one fan, I appreciate you and thank you.”
Young has also posted to Instagram with a photo from last night, thanking fans again and promising new music in 2017.

Curt Cameruci plans to continue Flosstradamus on his own, and has already announced a series of nightclub DJ sets in Las Vegas for the next few months.
