Guess who’s back? Back again?
Yep — we’ve just received official word that Eminem is BACK in the studio working on a new album, and he’s collaborating with none other than his old m8 Dr. Dre.
The beans have been spilled by a dude named Allen Hughes, who’s producing a new HBO mini-series doco called The Defiant Ones, which is all about Dre’s unlikely creative partnership with Jimmy Iovine and how together they basically flipped the entire music industry on its damn head.
Speaking with Uproxx about the upcoming four-parter, Hughes accidentally let slip a major Em album update when spruiking Dre’s crazy work ethic.
“Dre still records. People don’t know this: Dre records every day. Literally, he’s in there recording songs every day. He’s like Picasso in that way. He’s always painting,” he said.
“Right now he’s producing, in the 11th hour, a track for Eminem’s latest album. So Dre’s still real active in music, you know?”
So there you have it. Eminem’s first full-length since 2013’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is firmly in the pipeline (the “11th hour” line suggests it’s possibly almost finished too?) and Dre’s producing at least one track on it.
Palms = sweaty.
Fans have of course been crying out for more new material from the self-proclaimed “Chuck Norris with a thesaurus” ever since he dropped fiery multi-person diss track ‘Campaign Speech’ out of the blue late last year and confirmed that he was working on a new LP.
So needless to say we’re pumped for The Real Slim Shady to please stand up once again.
Don't worry I'm working on an album! Here's something meanwhile. https://t.co/QX3cdpqFD2
