Sydney’s annual (and free) Surry Hills Festival has revealed its music lineup for 2017, and it’s topped by some rising homegrown acts.
Returning to Surry Hills for its 15th iteration, the festival will host main stage sets from Sydney soultronica singer-songwriter Thandi Phoenix, hip hop duo Coda Conduct, indie-folk artist Joe Mungovan, gypsy rockers Ungus Ungus Ungus, The Fever Pitch, Borneo and Dweeb City.
Jay Katz will be returning as the MC DJ at the main stage in Ward Park, while the AIM Pop-Up stage will be hosted at Shannon Reserve.
60,000 people are expected to attend Surry Hills Festival 2017, which will take place in various places in inner-Sydney on Saturday, 23rd September. Aside from the music, there will also be plenty of food, free tours, performance, art and pop-up installations.
All funds raised at the event will go to community programs run by the Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre. Peep the event’s music lineup below, and head to the official website for more details.
