Sydney’s Born Lion are roaring back onto the airwaves with a raucous new slice of punk’n’roll dubbed ‘Evil K’.
The daredevil tune from the leather-clad foursome, which is premiering online via Music Feeds, was produced by Jimmy Balderstone (Luca Brasi, High Tension, Grenadiers) and mixed by Ryan Hazell (The Drones, Green Buzzard).
“’Evil K’ was the first song we wrote with our new drummer, Andres,” says frontman John Bowker. “It was such an exciting time and this song felt like the start of something really special. I penned the lyrics after watching a late night doco on these ageing stuntmen whose childhood hero was ‘Evel Knievel’”.
Born Lion’s new one has also been given an extra kick courtesy of it also heralding the announcement of the dudes’ second studio album Celebrate The Lie, which is due out in late October, not to mention a fistful of free tour dates.
East coast fans can catch the band playing a trio of live dates in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane this September to toast the arrival of ‘Evil K’ and, as mentioned, entry to all of them is absolutely FREE.
It comes after the gang have spent the years since their big triple j Unearthed 2013 Soundwave Festival win touring with the likes of The Hives, The Bronx, Royal Blood, Marmozets and Karnivool.
