Indie kids Cloud Control have covered a classic song by Irish rockers The Cranberries, for triple j‘s Like A Version covers segment.
The Sydney collective subbed in at the last minute for London Grammar (who were forced to bail on their scheduled Like A Version appearance due to illness), to bust out a cover of ‘Dreams’, a song that you’ve 100 per cent heard before, because it graced the soundtrack for pretty much every movie and TV show in the ’90s, from Mission: Impossible to You’ve Got Mail.
Recreating the Cranberries’ trademark lush harmonies with both male and female vocals, Cloud Control put a modern indie spin on an old soft rock gem. While in the triple j studios, the band also performed their original song ‘Treetops’, from their just-released new album Zone. Watch both performances, below.
Cloud Control kick off their Zone national tour in Sydney tonight, before heading to Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
