New Aussie Touring Festival ‘The Drop’ Announces Totally Tubular Debut Lineup

UPDATE: The Drop Festival Announces 2019 Dates, Expands To Two New Locations

ORIGINAL STORY: Get ready to froth like whitewash, because Australia just scored a new touring surf-infused music festival dubbed ‘The Drop’, and its debut lineup is a crusher.

Triple j favourites SAFIA, Dune Rats, San Cisco, Holy Holy and Ruby Fields will all be chasing the breaks around the Aussie coast this March and April, stalking the trajectory of the World Surf League Championship Tour’s Aussie leg.

That means the festival will hit the shores of D’Bah near Snapper Rocks, Torquay near Bells Beach and Margaret River, taking place on the first weekend of each coinciding surfing event.

Aussie boarding royal (and founding partner of The Drop) Wayne ‘Rabbit’ Bartholomew says the fest will appeal to surfing and music fans alike.

“The Drop Music Festival’s gonna rock Snapper, Bells and Margaret River in 2018. I’m super pumped on this!” he says.

Each leg of the festival will highlight what makes each region unique — a combination of local culture, food and beverage vendors and a shared love of the ocean, including pros and grommets alike.
