Brace yourselves, KISS Army, because the Painted Ones could be coming back to our shores for a run of blockbuster rock shows sometime pretty soon.
Gene Simmons has revealed that the Knights In Satan’s Service are planning to embark on a monster three-year world tour, kicking off next January, which he’s talked up (in classic Simmons fashion) as their “most spectacular tour ever”.
“It will be a three year long tour starting in January 2019,” The Demon blabbed to Sweden’s Expressen newspaper, confirming that the band would be hitting “all continents”.
And yep, since last time we checked Australia was a continent, you can pretty much take that as confirmation that KISS will be bringing their “spectacular” new tour down under at some point between 2019 and 2022.
ICYMI there’s been talk that this could also be KISS’s final ever tour, after Simmons previously confirmed that there “will be one at some point”.
“We can’t keep doing this forever. We are the hardest-working band in show business. If [Mick] Jagger stepped into my dragon boots, he couldn’t last a half hour,” he said last month, confessing that he wants to retire the band before the band start to feel like they’re not “valid” anymore.
“Remember, we introduced ourselves as, ‘You wanted the best, you got the best, the hottest band in the world.’ Not we ‘used to be’ the best,” he said.
Well they were definitely still THE BEST last time they came down under in 2015, as this writer can personally attest.
Anyhoo, while we wait for more news on KISS’s next and possibly final Aussie jaunt, you can catch Gene and Ace Frehley touring down under in solo mode this August and September.
