Fleet Foxes have rallied behind a good Australian cause, with the announcement that they have be donated their song ‘Your Protector’ to a campaign run by the Foundation For National Parks & Wildlife.
The campaign aims to raise $229,000 to purchase 229 hectares of available land, which would then become a part of the Woomargama National Park, about three hours south-west of Canberra. That land would then be protected and preserved forever.
Each member of the band, as well as their publishing company Kobalt Music, have given their permission for the campaign to use the song ‘Your Protector’, from the band’s 2008 self-titled debut album, royalty-free. They’ve also given permission for Sydney band Lines of Flight to cover the song for the soundtrack to the video displaying the park, which you can watch below.
Fleet Foxes were last in Australia this past December as part of Falls Festival, on the back of their 2017 album Crack-Up.
