Avant-garde supergroup Fantômas – which features Mike Patton (Faith No More, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom), Buzz Osborne (Melvins), Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle, Madlove) and Dale Crover (Melvins, Shrinebuilder) – will release The Director’s Cut Live: A New Year’s Revolution on DVD, September 6th.
The show has tracks from their 2001 album The Director’s Cut, which was a cover album of many classic and cult horror film themes (and some non-horror titles as well). The show was filmed on New Year’s Eve in 2008, at San Franciso’s Great American Music Hall and features commentary by comedian Neil Hamburger.
Two other songs feature on The Director’s Cut Live: A New Year’s Revolution that were not in the original release of The Director’s Cut. Al Green’s Simply Beautiful and Marc Bolan & T. Rex’s Chariot Choogle.
