Dear Avalanches fans,
We are delighted to inform that you will not have to wait another 16 years for the group’s next album.
The Aussie electro pioneers infamously made us wait four leap years between their debut LP Since I Left You and their 2016 sophomore LP Wildflower, but they’ve just issued an update on their next record and it doesn’t sound too far off!
“Our third album is taking shape and we can’t wait to share it with you all,” the band tweeted in a post celebrating the two-year anniversary of Wildflower.
“It’s already something very special.”

The last two years have also seen the band embark on a lengthy world tour, which included multiple stops on the Aussie festival circuit.
Speaking earlier this year ahead of the group’s appearance at Vivid Sydney, Robbie Chater told FBi Radio that the new record is “flowing so quickly”.
“I think getting Wildflower out of the way and following up Since I Left You feels like a weight’s been lifted. The music is really light, it’s some of the best stuff we’ve done.”
Permission to freak out: granted
