Childish Gambino Is Being Sued By His Former Record Label Over Streaming Royalties

After having a huge 2018 so far, Childish Gambino is now being sued by his former record label over a streaming royalties dispute.

As TMZ reports, Glassnote Entertainment Group claim that Donald Glover owes them over US $700,000 in unpaid streaming royalties. On top of that, the label also claims that they’ve paid Glover almost US $8 million in royalties, and are expected to pay another $2 million on top of that over the next three months.

Finally, they claim that Glover actually made a demand of $1.5 million from the label to resolve other streaming disputes.

This comes as a pretty large dint on what’s been a massive year for Gloverafter winning a Grammy and the release of the widely-revered and wildly successful ‘This Is America.’

Under Glassnote, Gambino released three albums – 2011’s Camp, 2013’s Because The Internet and 2016’s game-changing “Awaken, My Love!”. He signed a new deal with RCA Records earlier this year.

Gambino is also making his long-awaited return to Australia later this year, with a few tour dates and a massive headlining spot at Canberra’s Spilt Milk.
