Adele has revealed that she is plotting the follow-up to her ridiculously huge sophomore album 21, and that it might have a distinct country feel to it. 21 was released in January of this year and has sold an obscene 10 million copies.
As the Guardian reports, the 23-year-old Londoner developed a fascination with American folk music whilst touring in the US, saying, “I want to spend some time in Austin, Texas and Nashville, Tennessee, and learn about it.”
Adele had revealed last month that she hoped to take a different approach to her next LP, saying, “I want it to be quite acoustic and piano-led. It won’t be a big production.”
She told The Sun last week, “I feel like a four-year-old in a candy shop who’s discovering sweets again … The melodies and to-the-point lyrics I have found in a lot of American styles of music is definitely something I’m going be pursuing heavily from now on … Every day is amazing when it comes to discovering new artists.”
