This is… pretty sh*t. Childish Gambino‘s Australian tour has been officially cancelled, with ticket-holders receiving emails today confirming that his axed dates will no longer be rescheduled.
“Unfortunately, there will be no rescheduled dates on the postponed Perth, Melbourne and Sydney Childish Gambino Australian tour,” Live Nation confirmed to Ticketmaster in a statement today.
“The Grammy, Golden Globe and Emmy-Award winning, multi-talented recording artist and innovator Donald Glover, a.k.a. Childish Gambino, was forced to postpone his SOLD OUT Australian Tour due to a foot injury he sustained at a Dallas concert in September. Live Nation were working to reschedule the new dates, but due to scheduling conflicts currently there are no suitable dates.”
OUR EMOTIONS!
Punters who purchased tickets online or over the phone with a credit card will be refunded automatically, while everyone else will need to return to the box office or other point of purchase to get their cash back.
It’s unclear what this means for our chances of ever seeing Childish Gambino live in concert again, as the rapper has now repeatedly confirmed that his current world tour will be his “last ever”.
Meanwhile, rubbing salt into Aussie fans’ wounds, Gambino’s Pharos Festival performances have just wrapped in New Zealand to plenty of rave reviews.
