Josh Thomas’ ‘Please Like Me’ Follow-Up ‘Everything’s Gonna Be Okay’ Is Coming

Aussie comedian Josh Thomas has a new show on the way called Everything’s Gonna Be Okay.

The follow-up to Thomas’ hugely successful ABC series Please Like Me will be created and written by the comic, who will also star in the program after it was picked up for a pilot by Disney-owned cable network Freeform, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

“Guys! I have a show! I wish I could show everyone the pilot RIGHT NOW,” 31-year-old Thomas told his fans on social media.

“I just really think it will be great and I hope you get to see it!”

Everything’s Gonna Be Okay reportedly sees Thomas star as Nicholas, a 25-year-old living at home with his single dad and two teenage half-sisters, one of whom is autistic.

Nicholas’ dad becomes terminally ill, leaving Nicholas to hold the family together.

Variety reports that Freeform has ordered 10 episodes of the half-hour series. If the show is eventually picked up for a full series release, Avalon Distribution will reportedly distribute the comedy internationally.

Please Like Me ran for four seasons, and also starred the likes of Hannah Gadsby, Thomas Ward, Debra Lawrance, David Roberts and, of course, John The Dog.
