Perhaps one of the most rock n’ roll moments in all of rock n’ roll history happened back in 2015, when Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl stacked it off stage in Gothenburg, Sweden, only to return moments later to perform the rest of the set with a shattered leg.
The historic performance saw Grohl see out the set with his foot wrapped and elevated, while a Swedish medic knelt nearby to guard against further injury.
Flash-forward four years (crikey, the time flies!) and Foo Fighters have returned to Sweden to headline Lollapalooza Stockholm and — sure enough — the hero medic from Grohl’s historic stack was there, watching the show from the crowd.
Naturally good guy Grohl — never one to let a heartfelt live moment pass him by — dedicated the band’s performance of ‘My Hero’ that night to the dude “Doctor Johan” and led the crowd in a group singalong.
“There he is! Sing it to him!” Grohl yelled mid-song, pointing out the rockstar doc.
Towards the end of the song, Grohl invited Johan up onstage and gave him a big hug #nawwwww
Watch the very wholesome moment go down in the video below.
