Shaggy Warns Fans Someone Is Posing As Him Online To Scam Money Out Of Them

If you’ve been approached online by someone claiming to be reggae legend Shaggy and asking you to send cash, you’ve… uh… I’m so sorry, you’ve been duped.

“It has come to my attention that there have been posts online from people purporting to be me and hitting up my fans for money while making false claims that they owe me something,” the singer has told fans. “I would like to make it clear that these are nothing more than an internet scam.”

Taking to social media to address the hoax, Shaggy has reassured fans It Wasn’t Him, saying “They are not from me nor do they represent me in any way. It saddens me that this has become our reality & that innocent people are being dragged in to this ridiculousness.”
