Much-loved Brisbane music venue The Zoo will reopen next month for a series of socially-distanced gigs as part of its ‘The Zoo Goes Anti-Social’ program.
According to the venue, the series is centred around “embracing change and adapting to new thought process while focusing on and supporting local and grassroots artists.”

With 15 shows taking place between July and September, 30 acts will take to the stage at the Fortitude Valley institution. 100 tickets will be available per show, with the venue commenting that “At all times we will be working within approve COVID safe plans, restrictions and guidelines, while trying to preserve an authentic live music experience.”
The series will kick off with a show from hip-hop collective Butterfingers on Saturday, 11th July. Other acts who are set to perform over the next few months include Bugs, The Steele Syndicate, Asha Jefferies, The Dreggs, Semantics and more.
The Zoo is, of course, one of many venues that have been impacted significantly by restrictions introduced to reduce the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Queensland is set to ease social distancing restrictions from Friday, 10th July – including allowing public gatherings of up to 100 people, making the shows in The Zoo’s Anti-Social series compliant.
