Slowly Slowly & Luca Brasi Team Up To Deliver Two Acoustic Tracks

It started weeks ago. Slowly Slowly and Luca Brasi began uploading matching french press illustrations and sending fans wild with suspense. Today, we have the finished collab: two fresh singles.

Announcing the news via Instagram, Luca Brasi said, “Stoked to finally announce this collab between us and our dear mates in @slowlyslowlymusic , one acoustic song each on a 7” vinyl.

“Together with the legends at @padrecoffee we have a signature blend of beans to go alongside limited edition vinyl and t-shirt packs; extremely limited. These songs were recorded in isolation. Serve your coffee hot and your revenge cold.”

We have the story behind the coffee too.

“Ben and I were going to get matching tattoos years back, we ended up getting different ones, me the plunger, Ben the cafetera,” said Tyler from Luca Brasi.

“Both tattoos were done by Jordy Hooper who then did the artwork for the front cover of the 7″.”

“Tyler and I had been sharing song ideas with each other, bored in iso. We are both very similar – it’s so funny how you can take away our livelihoods and creative outlets, but we’ll always find a way…” said Slowly Slowly’s Ben.

“The idea just kept growing, right until the point we had teamed up with Padre to release a coffee blend called ‘Godfather Brew’, specific to my love of Italian Kitsch and Luca Brasi’s origins as a name taken from The Godfather.”

Both songs on the collab were recorded in isolation and are these super stunning acoustic tracks.

Slowly Slowly have given us ‘Slow Learner’. It highlights how especially beautiful Ben Stewart’s vocals are, as well as his knack for crafting lyrics.

On the track he said, “This song was recorded in about 15 minutes in my bedroom at home. It’s about giving from a place of emptiness and how it always ends badly. We added the cello by Eileen Sparks in the mixing process, just for a splash of colour.”

Luca Brasi delivered ‘Yossarian’. It’s another beautiful acoustic filled with heartbreaking lyrics — Tyler’s specialty.

On the track, Tyler says, “I’ve been on and off writing songs about the novel Catch 22 for years. Start a dumb idea, then stop. Big dreams of a concept album… one day. But for now, this tune is about Yossarian from the novel, and his outlook on life; as bleak or as sensible as you take it.”
