Kevin Parker and the rest of the Tame Impala outfit have finally been given the opportunity to play NPR’s iconic Tiny Desk Concert series, albeit a socially distanced ‘Home’ version.
They delivered three songs from their fourth studio album The Slow Rush: ‘Breathe Deeper’, ‘Is It True’ and, while technically not on The Slow Rush, their 2019 single ‘Patience’.
True to form, Parker, Jay Watson and Dominic Simper completely reworks the songs and builds them from scratch for the performance.
Despite everything being effectively cancelled in the music industry, Parker and Tame Impala have stayed busy throughout the year. Following the release of The Slow Rush – which MusicFeeds dubbed as one of the best albums of the year thus far – they’ve offered a remix for 070 Shake and been remixed by Four Tet.
They are set to have a mammoth homecoming tour towards the end of this year after it was postponed from April, but…jury’s out on whether that one will actually be going ahead.
