The Rubens are back once again with another new single, ‘Muddy Evil Pain’ from their forthcoming album 0202, which is due out Friday, 12th February.
‘Muddy Evil Pain’ marks the fifth song we’ve heard from the band’s fourth studio album thus far, following the release of ‘Time Of My Life’, ‘Heavy Weather’ and ‘Masterpiece’ – all released in 2020 – and 2019’s ‘Live In Life’.
“‘Muddy Evil Pain’ is a good indicator as to how we’ve grown as a band sonically,” the band said of the song in a press statement.
“It’s essentially a folk-gospel song blended with heavily distorted pulsing synths, something we never would have considered doing on our first record but now comes naturally. It’s got so much energy, one we can’t wait to play live.”
Speaking of playing live, those in rural NSW won’t have to wait too long to see the band perform (pandemic permitting) as they’ve also just announced an album launch tour of various regional spots around the state.
Kicking off in early February, the band will hit dates in Bathurst, Morton, Tamworth, Dubbo and Port Macquaire and Thirroul.
