In case you missed it, Phoebe Bridgers was up for her very first SNL live performance the other night. It saw her debut alongside Dan Levy who was hosting the show.
Performing two songs from her latest Punisher, ‘Kyoto’ and ‘I Know The End’, Bridgers finished off the performance by smashing her guitar. Like seriously going hard on the smash.
It was very rockstar-esque.
Anyway, loads of people reacted to the footage. One “Brooklyn Dad” was a standout though.
“Why did this woman, Phoebe Bridgers, destroy her guitar on SNL?” he asked Twitter.
“I mean, I didn’t care much for the song either, but that seemed extra.”

Of course, that tweet alone inspired some amazing content.
That's an old Rock and Roll tradition started by the Who.

This one hits a little close to home for ~probably~ most Aussie artists.
if you think @phoebe_bridgers smashing an $85 guitar isn’t cool, just wait until you find out what the major airlines have been doing for decades to beloved instruments people rely on for work

Annnnnd this one, retweeted by Phoebe Bridgers herself.
I am so disappointed in Phoebe. There are millions of hungry kids out there who would have loved to eat that guitar. And now no one can eat it. I can’t stop crying. https://t.co/x3qBzAP8qV
